Our History
In the Summer of 2005 Aref Jomah (Oscar) Opened his first location in Northwest Houston near Tomball, TX. Fresh out of College and frustrated with the lack of good job opportunities in the Market, Oscar Opted to open his own business. With a Business degree under his belt and a family line of entrepreneurs it seemed like the right fit. In June 2005 Oscar opened his doors to the community offering postal services, mailbox rental, fax, copy, notary services and much more. Within 6 months the business was turning a profit; exceeding previous sales forecasts, although profitable Oscar realized the need to expand his line of services to increase revenue. Oscar learned early on to think outside the box and this task was no exception. After experimenting with several idea’s he finally found the right service that both increased overall revenue and complemented his primary business function ( Shipping & packing), the answer was an eBay consignment store! After 6 months of research and interviewing both postal center owners and ebay consignment store owners, Oscar concluded the following: Postal Centers that primarily depended on their postal services as their only source of revenue had a much higher chance of failing in the long run and eBay consignment stores that primarily depended on eBay commissions as their source of revenue equally had high failure rates.
On February 2007 Shipit! Sellit!™ opened its doors and began promoting the store as both a full service postal center and ebay drop off store. The mission statement was simple; to offer postal customers a small office atmosphere, while creating a hassle free way to ship and mail their packages. Provide sellers the best online auction experience by creating a hassle free way to sell their valuables online.
Shipit! Sellit!TM with this unique concept was able to break even in its second month, and turned a profit on its third month. This exciting and unique concept is proving to be quite the combination for a successful business venture. Already in the works is the ground work for a Third location, and possible Franchising is in the very near future. Stay tuned to see where this venture will be 1,2,3,10 years from today.
